Notes of a Food Eater

“Scientific societies are as yet in their infancy...It is to be expected that advances in physiology and psychology will give governments much more control over individual mentality than they now have even in totalitarian countries…
…education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished.

“Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible.”

Bertrand Russell
Impact of Science on Society 1953

In a large way this blog and the efforts of this author is to counter the intentions of one of the most evil men in history pictured above, Sir Bertrand Russell. I will not here detail the full extent and scope of his evil intentions that touch us intimately today, many years after his physical death, but call attention to the three tools that his evil intention would utilize to accomplish the goals of his evil intention.

Sir Bertrand like most evil individuals in history hated humanity - which is to say he hated Man in the Image of God- therefore he hated God. He is, as it were, a devil. He hated the divine spark in Man that places Him above the beasts of the field and jungle and makes Him, potentially, the Master of all He surveys and most importantly, the Master of His Own Fate and a co-Creator of the Universe. Sir Bertrand would detest the fact that I capitalize all nouns and pronouns referring to Man in the Image of God.

His intention, were it to be successful, would wipe Humanity from the face of the Earth. The self-proclaimed would-be 'elite rulers' who would remain in his diabolical vision would be beasts in human form, served by a sub-human class of permanent slaves. The above quotation from the book, Impact of Science on Society, published in 1953 and available on-line, is the succinct formula to be used to achieve his evil intention. 57 years after its first publication we are far advanced in its application, but yet, it is not too late.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places...

EPH 6:12.

Sir Bertrand's evil intention involves the manipulation of diet, the use of injections (vaccinations, etc.) and injunctions (legal trickery, fake laws, imperial edicts, or commonly today in America, Executive Orders and globally, UN Mandates). If we notice all three are in full effect everywhere. These three thrusts are aimed at the heart of Humanity. In the view of Sir Bertrand and a hoard of his followers who are ranged in ranks throughout the world, Humanity is to be done away with, slaughtered, annihilated. The blog, Life Abundantly, and this blogger are dedicated to educating the public as far as possible about the dangers that confront them in order that they may survive the onslaught of Satan - diabolical beasts in human form, of the ilk of Sir Bertrand Russell.

If we take a look at what has happened to the diet over the 5 or 6 decades since Sir Bertrand wrote his book, we see a plan in effect that has taken Man in the Image of God away from the natural foods of Man as found in the Garden planted by God eastward of Eden. God planted the Garden, the first Divine Work on Earth following actual Creation and placed the Man in it, to keep it and dress it. The Garden was to provide for all the needs of Man so that Man could grow and survive, having the Power and Energy to prevail over the forces of nature, over which He, Man, was destined to have dominion. Man the vice-gerent of God, the Khalifa, was to rule in the absence of God over God's entire Creation, not necessarily limited to one small planet. The key to the success of God's plan was in the Garden, the source of all nourishment for the Man in the Image and likeness of God, Who was to do the Will or the Works of God. But how could Man in the Image and likeness of God, stay in the Divine Image, unless he remained int he Garden, eating of the good things Created for that purpose? Knowing this, the devil, the most subtile of creatures, made a suggestion to the Man through His Mate, that they could eat food not made lawful to them by God. Thus, the original deception as the final deception, is over food - what Man is to eat and must eat if he is to attain to the intended perfection of His nature to be a God with God.

So the subtile deceiver of Genesis is picture above in its latest incarnation, Sir Bertrand. He's up to the usual tricks as usual. It worked before, why not try it again?

So today, it is important for us all to be able to identify the food that God desires for us to eat, so that we might avoid the 'diet' that Sir Bertrand would have us consume. For that we need to know the difference between what is properly called FOOD versus, what is properly called FOOD PRODUCTS

Anything that grew in the Garden of Eden, created by God, is food and is the only food we should ever eat. This includes all the original fruits, vegetables, seeds, grains, animals, honey, etc that were present then, the descendants of which are present now, just as we are the descendants of the humans who existed at that time. We should eat what they were created to eat and what was created for them to eat.

So the first thing to know is that only God knows how to make food - nobody else is smart enough to know how to make food for people to eat. Anybody else in the so-called 'food business' is a faker and an unworthy competitor to God.

Here are listed out some of the major characteristics of real food. These characteristics are to be understood from two standpoints. One, the negative view of what's 'wrong' with food that has 'justified' the 'improvement' of food; and two, the positive aspect which shows what is 'right' about real food and how it serves the Divine purpose.

The Divine Purpose of food is also basically to be viewed in two parts, each related to the other. First we need real food because of its ability to sustain the force of our lives. This 'life force' is denied by modern science. To modern science life is just a matter of chemistry that arose spontaneously out of the primordial swamp a few billion years ago. The view of life as chemistry is what is mis-guiding not only 'food manufacturing', but also modern medicine, especially the development and use of hydro-carbon based chemical drugs to cure the diseases of life. To be sure, chemistry of a special sort, does operate in life, but it is not life. Louis Pasteur long ago showed that two chemically identical molecules of tartaric acid are quite different, as one is associated with and a product of life, the other only with the world of inorganic non-living chemical substance. The one would have a measurable biologic effect within a living organism, the other would not. That mysterious difference is in fact the mystery of life, and can not be fully explained in terms of chemistry alone. But it can be observed to have a noticeable effect that benefits living organisms. it contributes to life and the force of life itself! You may wish to view a wonderful documentary film on this vital subject by clicking on this link: http://www.larouchepac.com/node/13732

The living force in food is also what leads to some of the other characteristics of real food vs food products. For example, one of the 'negative' characteristics of food is the fact that it 'goes bad too quick'. Going bad means that the pear develops a brown soft spot and soon softens into mush in a matter of a few days. The reason it does that is because of the living enzymes it contains which causes a self-digestion process to begin. Real food contains the enzymes needed to digest it, making it easy to assimilate. This ease of digestion and assimilation are two more of the positive characteristics of real food, generally missing in highly processed, refined manufactured food products.

Ease of digestion and assimilation may be mis-identified as negative characteristics. Ease of digestion and assimilation mean that 'transit time' for real food is short. Transit time refers to the time it takes for an ingested food to move from the mouth all the way through the digestive system - esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines and out the anus. For most real whole natural foods this transit time will be relatively short, less by far than that of highly processed, refined manufactured food products. Raw milk is an example par excellence. From ingestion to elimination may just be 4 to 6 hours. Viewed negatively, this might be misunderstood as diarrhea, and considered to be a problem, that needs a medical fix. It might lead to an erroneous conclusion that one is 'intolerant' of milk and shouldn't consume it.

A six hour transit time to a person who is used to the 36 hour or more transit times of macaroni and cheese and other highly processed highly refined, compact and dry foods, by contrast, does sound like diarrhea, but it is only what normal really should be. Someone who has only ever had hard or formed stool except when ill, may in all honesty, mis-read bodily changes of a positive nature brought about by a dietary change to food that is natural, living and easily digested and assimilated. The amount of work required of the digestive system is markedly reduced, saving vital force and energy for other important tasks needed in running the body economy in a healthy efficient way.

Real food 'goes bad real fast'. This is another 'negative' of natural whole foods, that actually is an indication that the food is whole and alive. It is capable of digesting itself and, if real spoilage is in fact occurring, then it is demonstrating its ability to support the life of other living things - in this case micro-organisms. Are that a negative? Only in the viewpoint of those who are the enemy of life and consider all the manifestations of life to be, at best, a nuisance or a problem to be solved.

Understandably, from the point of view of a corporation which is non-living, but is considered by the 'law' to be 'an artificial person', all of the characteristics of life are problematic. Why is that? It is because the 'problem' faced by all corporations is how to make a profit. The artificial person that is a corporation has no human interest in food. Food, and for that matter the people who eat it are, to it, only potential profit sources to be managed. Therefore, to the extent possible, all the problems associated with food and food eaters are to be managed away for the sole purpose to increase profitability.

When a natural person, in the image and likeness of God, like God, plants a Garden, like God, that natural person and his or her family members, neighbors and community as well as live stock can all share in the bounty of the Garden. They actually benefit from eating what has been produced. Even spoilage and lost crops are not considered from the holistic point of view of the enlightened farmer as problems. Spoiled produce simply goes on the compost heap and get re-cycled, making the compost even richer than before. It becomes the food for worms and micro organisms who through their digestive systems produce the very 'soil' of which, according to the Bible and Qur'an, Man Himself is made. So the natural man does not see that there is a problem in the natural cycle or circle of life. There is not the duality of profit and loss. Everything is a gain. Life grows.

The purpose of the Garden - to sustain life- has been fulfilled. If there is a surplus to take to market then that is some much more to the good. The Farmer's Market is the basis of all economy. In fact, the word English word economy itself is derived from the Greek root, ekonomos, means, household or farm! Markets arose out of the need to exchange the surplus of the Garden, thus producing wealth and well-being as a by-product of growing food. Now, when the Market has become a corporation, the corporation is blind to the presence and the purpose and the meaning of life, and sees only monetary profits, and is so serious about increasing profits, than even life itself can be sacrificed if that will better the bottom line.

To the corporate manager, whose eye is on the bottom line, food spoilage is a problem. There is no compost heap out back. The corporate accountant wouldn't know how to re-evaluate spoiled food and roll it over to the coming year. The normal 12 month growing cycle has been replaced by quarterly cycles. In the natural world grow occurs only in the growing season. The corporate view demands grow in every season. Every quarter must be more profitable than the previous one. Managers will rise and fall according to their quarterly profits.

What's a manager to do? Even out the harvest, stretch it out, so that the harvest can be the same during every quarter. That is the only thing that can be done to satisfy the corporate hunger which is for more and more profits every quarter and human sacrifice is not out of the question.

So the manager of the "food'" corporation which has taken over the Farmer's Market does what any good manager will do - he solves the problems! He will do whatever it takes to solve the problem and keep the corporation happy. And his bonus won't be food - it will be money.

How does he do this? He does what any good undertaker will do when a new corpse is received. You see, the "food' corporation has the same problem as the under taker. Both have a spoilage problem. When the undertaker receives a body, at that moment, it is highly unlikely that he has much of an idea when the funeral services will be held. He does not know if it will be a day, a week or even longer. But he does know that the clock is ticking and that there is a good possibility that the body will decompose rapidly if he leaves the blood of life in the dead body. Containing all the enzymes of life in itself, the blood will cause a rapid deterioration in the body of the dead person.

So, right away, the undertaker will drain the blood form the body and replace it with embalming fluid. Problem solved. Now the body will keep indefinitely. It doesn't matter how long the family of the deceased may take. The body will be good when the moment comes. Besides, he's also got a cosmetic kit to make the body look good for the viewing. And when he has done a bang up job he can anticipate hearing from the mourners on the occasion, "She looks just like herself! Just like the last time I saw her."

So the undertaker has a right to feel very pleased with himself. He has handled a serious problem of nature with a high degree of professionalism and expertise. Now to be sure, as good a job as the undertaker has done, what he does not expect is for someone to say, " You have done such a great job, and she looks so good, I think we will be taking her back home." Impressed yes, not not that impressed that they lose sight of the crucial difference between the living and the dead. So once the service is concluded, guess who stays in the box?

So, you're saying, "What does any of this have to do with food?" Just that the same process is used by the food manufactures for the same reasons. Whole natural food, because it contains within it the enzymes and other vital nuriaents needed to digest itself, 'goes bad' in relatively short period of time. From the view point of the corporation that owns the Food Super Market, that's bad for profits! So the corporation that is in the 'food manufacturing' business offers the solution. Call it the 'undertaker solution'. Just take all the vital living enzymes and nutrients out of the food. Get rid of all the elments of the food that are living, active and powerful. These are the things that are causing the 'problem'. The food wouldn't 'go bad' if these things wernt't there, so lets get rid of them through a manufacturing process. This is what food processing and refinement is all about. Get rid of the vitamin, minerals, enzymes and other vital food nutrients that make the food a whole antural source of all the things that have the capacity to sustain life. From the point of view of the corportation, that's removing the problem - the corporate problem that is, the problem that is lowering 'profits'.

Food manufacturing corporations are working -not for you the consumer, the eater - they are working for the corporation that sells 'food'. Only, since it's the food that causes all the probems, we are now converting all the food into a 'food product'. No spoilage, no loss, long shelf life. Another corporate victory over nature. Only thing is - you and I, the eaters, who need food to sustain the life and health of our bodies- we can't live like that. Eating food products makes us sick and lowers our human potential. Eating food products that have been stripped down so they won't spoil means that there is no longer any life force in what we eat. The more of this stuff we eat the less vitality and energy we have. This is a long way from what God intended. The drop in our human potential (to be in the image and likeness of God) is the 'fall of Adam from Grace' into perdition and eventually Hell. You become what you eat. If you eat what is dead...

The evidence that the food manufacturers are doing what the undertaker does is right on the label in the list of ingredients. The first "ingredient" is the original food - now its an ingredient. After that are all the embalming agents, usually called by other names - preservatives, emulsifiers, rectifiers, texturizers, stabilizers, etc - followed by fragrances, coloring agents and flavor enhancers. This is the manufacturing process, which is no different than the embalming process of the undertaker. The 'viewing' takes place when you, the consumer, open the box and are heard to exclaim, "It looks just like itself. Hmm..mm good." The differnce is that the pretty picture on the package, the health claims made, the slick advertising, the color scheme and the general lack of knowledge of the conusmer all conspire to make the consumer incapabale of realizing that this 'food' is dead, and shouldn't be taken home, but should be left just where it is - in the box.

Holy Cow and Beyond

As everybody who reads this blog knows, I am a strong advocate of raw milk and for that matter all dairy products, because of the amazing health benefits they provide. The central role of cows in Man's quest for a better life and the prime focus on cows in sacred texts all over the world has been a source of wonder and enchantment to me as highlighted in my on-going series, The Miracle of Milk, available in the archives of this blog. Taking note of the facts that we live in no other galaxy but the one called The Milky Way galaxy and human life can be nurtured from cradle to grave with no other food save milk, there is obviously something quite unique and wonderful about cows. But, given all that, I was in no way prepared for what is reported on in the article below. It is stunning and breath-taking to understate the case by a mile.
You like me may be heard to explode with, "HOLY COW!"

A cure for cancer – or just a very political animal?

The Go-vigyan Kendra institute in India claims to harness the medicinal powers of cows for human benefit. But, asks Andrew Buncombe, what are its real motives?

In a stinking, smoking room in which large metal cauldrons spat and sizzled atop wood-fuelled fires, Dr Nandini Bhojraj pointed with pride to four plastic buckets placed on the floor. One, she declared, contained cow's milk, another cow's urine, a third "dung juice" created by soaking cow excrement in water, while into the last had been poured clarified butter, or ghee.

The purpose of the witches' kitchen-like set-up was to heat and combine all four to create a wonder drug for humans. "It will cure 99 per cent of all diseases," Dr Bhojraj declared. For more than a decade, she and a team of fellow enthusiasts and activists at the Go-vigyan Kendra institute and farm in central India have been quietly researching the medicinal and health-boosting qualities of the Indian cow.

Using principles they say come from both ancient medicine or ayurveda and Hindu texts, they have created a range of items based on cowpathy, or the five traditional cow products – milk, urine, dung, butter and ghee.

There is shampoo to prevent dandruff, mosquito repellent, incense, tooth-whitening powder manufactured from dung charcoal as well as the more obvious fertiliser and insecticide. At one point, a sister farm in the north of India even had plans to produce a soft drink from cow's urine. But earlier this summer, the establishment of 280 cows and 50 staff set amid the thick jungle that is home to groups of langur monkeys, captured the headlines when it announced it had obtained patents in the US and China for another distilled urine product, marketed as Gomutra Ark, that it claimed could help cure cancer and several other serious conditions.

While, by itself, obtaining a patent is no proof of anything, its boasts were supported by the government-funded National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI). At a press conference one of its senior officials told reporters: "Many patients, some of them terminally ill with diseases like cancer, have come to the Go-vigyan Kendra for treatment and have claimed to have benefited from Gomutra Ark." The institute responsible for producing this drug is located about 40 miles east of Nagpur, a city of 2.5m people that sits at the geographic centre of India.

In addition to the cowsheds where workers from nearby villages gather dung and urine, there are several rather scruffy buildings that serve as laboratories, workshops and offices. There is also a hostel for children who attend a local school. The establishment was set up 15 years ago with money and support from a controversial Hindu nationalist organisation, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), but officials say the centre is independent because it is now funded solely by the sale of its products and donations.

Yet its aims – research into the five cow products ("panchagavya" in Sanskrit) and the promotion of the cow as being central to human existence – remain the same. "We initially came to look at the Indian lifestyle with the focus on the village and the cow. It all depends on cows. We want to look at how we can help put the cow at the centre," explained Suresh Dawle, the institute's secretary. "India's system depends on the village and the village depends on the cow – to fertilise the land, for milk, urine for pesticide. If the cow is at the centre then the economy will grow." Asked if the institute was also proselytising Hindu beliefs, he demurred: "Hinduism is a way of life. It's not religion, it's a way of life for mankind. This is not related to religion."

Yet a stroll around the grounds of Go-vigyan Kendra left little doubt about the way in which the cow is venerated here. A noticeboard listing daily activities mentioned that 9am was time for "cow worship", when the animals are washed, scrubbed and a prayer ritual, which involves encircling the cow with incense and painting a red dot or tika on its head, is performed.

The cow has long been at the centre of often vicious political and cultural battles in India. Considered sacred by Hindus and protected by law, purported attacks on cows are often used as rallying device by right-wing Hindu groups, such as the VHP. Dalits, or so-called untouchables, are often attacked, beaten and even murdered after being accused of killing or eating cows, something that is banned in the majority of Indian states. Just last week there were protests from Dalits and others in the southern state of Karnataka where the state government passed new legislation to ban eating cows or buffalo. Yet despite their supposed high status, cows often live a shabby life in India, especially in large cities where they idly wander the traffic-choked roads or graze on piles of festering rubbish and plastic bags. In Delhi, the government employs teams of urban cowboys to catch the stray animals and take them away on trucks to farms on the city's edge.

Asked to explain this apparent discrepancy, Mr Dawle said: "Britain ruled India for 200 years, broke the village economy and imposed their lifestyle on Indian people. People forgot the importance of the cow." If people at the institute have their way that will never happen again. Dr Bhojraj said in addition to the Gomutra Ark, 28 products manufactured at the institute had received clearance from the government's food and drug safety body. Best of all, she said, there were no side effects from these products, not even from the fearsome-sounding concoction that her staff had been making in smoking pans.

Her words were still ringing out a few moments later when it was time to test the raw materials the wonder drugs are made from. In a small room at the rear of the institute, several clay pots were lined up against the wall. Dr Bhojraj lifted the lid from one of them and scooped out the light, straw-coloured liquid with a small metal cup.

"It is eight-day-old distillate of cow's urine," she said. "It may smell quite strong." Indeed it did. But the smell of this aged urine, however bad, was nothing compared to its taste. Just the smallest sip was enough to trigger a flurry of different associations – burning grass, petrol, Laphroaig whisky, rancid sourness – that produced a vile gustatory overload. The heart seemed to beat faster, the brow sweated. Would it be deemed impolite to step outside and spit? "Perhaps you'd like some water," enquired Dr Bhojraj. One might assume something that tasted so bad must do some good.

In the US patent for Gomutra Ark, the product was described as a "composition useful for protecting and/or repairing DNA from oxidative damages". Dr Bhojraj said chemicals in urine caused cancer to cells to "commit suicide". And it is not just cancer. One of the institute's books claims Indian cow's urine – and it must be Indian cows, they insist – can also help treat renal failure, leprosy, skin disease, piles, anaemia, jaundice, mouth ulcers and ear disease.

In India, drinking urine has a long history and may stretch back thousands of years. One ancient text, the Damar Tantra, is said to contain more than 100 verses on the benefits of both drinking urine and of massaging it into the skin.

The late Indian prime minister, Morarji Desai, who served between 1977 and 1979, was famous for his championing of so-called "urine therapy" and claimed drinking his own had helped him get rid of piles. He even once told an interviewer that drinking urine could be a "perfect" medical solution to millions of Indians unable to afford doctors.

Yet for all its champions, most experts, at least outside of India, have concluded there are no benefits to be obtained from drinking it.

Dr Donald Hensrud, chairman of preventive medicine at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, told ABC News: "I think I'm perfectly comfortable in saying that I'm aware of no data that cow's urine – or any other species' urine – holds any promise... in treating or preventing cancer." Such opinions will do nothing to deter the friendly and charming people at the Go-vigyan Kendra.

When it was time to leave, The Independent was escorted from the farm by Madhu Rotkar, a former civil servant who worked there as a volunteer. He was 76 and yet appeared to have boundless energy. Asked, inevitably, if he drank the purportedly-magical cow's urine, he replied with a smile: "Every morning."

Health Experts Demand Evacuations from the Gulf Now

Toxic chemical expert: We are all part of a science experiment! (video). Other experts say massive evacuation from the Gulf should begin now, as the level of concern over toxic health effects rises. Weakening of the immune systems of people in the region of the oil spill makes them sitting ducks for infections and cancers and many other very bad outcomes. Why is Corexit 9500 being sprayed over the land and water, and by whose order, since the EPA has ruled it to be a very toxic and dangerous chemical?

Experts: Health Hazards in Gulf Warrant Evacuations

by: Rose Aguilar, t r u t h o u t Report

George Barisich has been a fisherman in New Orleans for over 40 years. Some experts are concerned that toxic chemicals being used to help clean up the oil spill in the Gulf are seriously endangering the health of those living near the water. When Louisiana residents ask marine toxicologist and community activist Riki Ott what she would do if she lived in the Gulf with children, she tells them she would leave immediately. "It's that bad. We need to start talking about who's going to pay for evacuations."
In 1989, Ott, who lives in Cordova, Alaska, experienced firsthand the devastating effects of the Exxon Valdex oil disaster. For the past two months, she's been traveling back and forth between Louisiana and Florida to gather information about what's really happening and share the lessons she learned about long-term illnesses and deaths of cleanup workers and residents. In late May, she began meeting people in the Gulf with symptoms like headaches, dizziness, sore throats, burning eyes, rashes and blisters that are do deep, they're leaving scars. People are asking, "What's happening to me?"
She says the culprit is almost two million gallons of Corexit, the dispersant BP is using to break up and hide the oil below the ocean's surface. "It's an industrial solvent. It's a degreaser. It's chewing up boat engines off-shore. It's chewing up dive gear on-shore. Of course it's chewing up people's skin. The doctors are saying the solvents are making the oil worse."

In a
widely watched YouTube video, Chris Pincetich, a marine biologist and campaigner with the Sea Turtle Restoration Project, said Coast Guard planes are flying overhead at night spraying Corexit on the water and on land. "People need to realize that their water, their air, the sand they're walking on, the things they're touching when they wake up in the morning, are coated with this stuff," he said. "We are producing an experiment in the Gulf, the likes that no one has ever seen and top scientists admit that, so we're all part of the experiment."
Ott says people who are experiencing discomfort of any kind, especially children, pregnant women, cancer survivors, asthma sufferers and African-Americans because they're prone to sickle cell anemia, should wear a respirator and see a doctor that specializes in chemical poisoning immediately. She also recommends contacting the detox specialists at
The Environmental Health Center in Dallas, Texas. "People don't have the information to know that the burning sore throat is actually chemical poisoning," she said. "And this isn't getting any attention, but it's very important. There are no vaccinations for chemical poisoning. None."
Because she's gotten to know the locals and has done a number of national media interviews, she's now receiving a barrage of daily phone calls and emails from people who are concerned and don't know where else to turn. She recommends they read this
Sciencecorps resource about potential health hazards.
Ott shared these stories on a recent trip to the Bay Area with Diane Wilson, former Texas shrimper turned rabble-rousing activist. Ott was coughing and constantly clearing her throat during our two-hour conversation. "I can still smell the oil," she said.
Media outlets have been reporting on public health concerns and taking water quality samples, but Ott says they've only scratched the surface. "If I were in charge of the media, I would be talking be about public safety and public health every day. They should also be exposing the truth about how our federal standards are outdated and no longer protective of public health or worker safety. We knew in 1989 that OSHA had a loophole in it that's big enough to drive every single sick worker through. It exempts the reporting of colds and flues. That loophole has not been closed since Exxon Valdez."
Ott expressed her concerns during a May meeting with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lisa Jackson. "I was sitting across from her. She said, quote, 'I am walking a fine line between truth and hysteria. We don't want to create a panic.' This shows you how much our government is beholden to oil and cannot imagine a future without oil. We the people have got to imagine this. We have to. This is way worse than people think."
On Tuesday,
Mother Jones' Kate Sheppard reported that Hugh Kaufman, a whistleblower who works as a senior policy analyst in the EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, is accusing the agency of deliberately downplaying public health threats and its own role in regulating the chemicals being dumped into the Gulf "to protect itself from liability and keep the public from getting too alarmed."
The cause for alarm can't be more apparent. In addition to the health problems people are already experiencing, WKRG News 5 reporter Jessica Taloney recently
collected samples of water and sand from five Alabama beaches and took them to a local lab to be tested.
Bob Naman, a chemist with nearly 30 years of experience, told Taloney that he wouldn't expect to see more than five parts per million of oil and petroleum in the water. The sample of the water taken in Gulf Shores beach, where adults and kids were swimming and playing, showed 66 parts per million. The sand had 211 parts per million. When Naman began to test the sample collected from Dauphin Island Marina, it exploded. "We think that it mostly likely happened due to the presence of methanol or methane gas or the presence of the dispersant, Corexit."
"What's going on in the Gulf is the same cover-up that was going with the 9/11 environmental issue," the EPA's Kaufman told Sheppard. "The Bush White House ordered EPA to lie about the environmental and public health situation at the World Trade Center because of economic ramifications. So they did."
On
Democracy Now!, Kaufman accused the EPA of being "sock puppets for BP in this cover-up."
I called Kaufman to find out if he agrees with Ott's decision to sound the alarm about evacuations. The short answer? Yes. "If you're getting sick, it's because you're being poisoned," he said. "Those chemicals can cause cancer 20 years down the line and that's why Riki Ott is saying some areas have to be evacuated. That's true. We don't know how bad it is because the EPA is not doing adequate air testing. They're taking some measurements so they can tell the public that everything is safe [when in fact the public has] an increased risk of getting cancer and dying early. They're pawns in a money game."
Kaufman and Ott both say the media need to follow the money. The reason why the EPA is covering this up, they say, is because the cost to BP would be astronomical. "The dispersants hide the oil," said Ott. "If you put dispersants in the water, you don't know how much oil was really spilled. Oil fines are based on how much oil was spilled, so it's all about money."
If a group listed as a terrorist organization had caused the oil disaster, Kaufman says their assets would be seized immediately and their members would be arrested. So, why hasn't the US government seized BP's assets? Kaufman points to an
April Vanity Fair article about Larry Fink, one of the most powerful men on Wall Street. Fink's BlackRock money-management firm controls or monitors more than $12 trillion worldwide, including a billion shares of BP. According to the article, BlackRock "has effectively become the leading manager of Washington's bailout of Wall Street," thanks to Fink's close relationship with former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
"It's all about money," says Kaufman. "Follow the money."
So, where does this leave the people whose lives have been destroyed by this disaster? Where does this leave the people who will face long-term health problems? Where does this leave our oceans, wildlife and environment? What's next?
"The more the public knows, the more the media cover it, the more the people tell officials to help, the better it is," says Kaufman. "It's a game of momentum."
Ott says she plans to stay in the area to assist where she can (getting respirators for workers is near the top of her list), get the truth out and continue the conversations and community meetings she's having with self-described Tea Partiers, evangelicals and fifth and sixth generation fisherman. "Here's something positive for you," she said. "I'm starting to hear, 'We all live on one planet and there really is a climate crisis here. This can't continue.' I'm having conversations with the Christian Right. I'm staying in an oilman's camper. Oilmen are starting to see that we need alternatives. I'm having tea party people come up to me and say, 'How can I help?' Corporations want to divide the nation into red and blue, Democrat and Republican. I'm seeing that crashing down. The frames are dissolving. The South is rising. I'm talking about the Deep South. This is the most hopeful sign I'm seeing."
Former shrimper Diane Wilson hopes to see more direct action. "This is a crisis. If this oil gusher does not move people to force a change in Washington, then it will never happen. We are seeing the end of the United States as we know it. If people hold their planet dear, they better be out there. Folks are too well behaved. We need to be unreasonable."

BP & CIA Trigger Deadly Dengue Fever Outbreak In Florida

Earlier this month, the CDC reported that 10% of residents of Key West Florida are infected with Dengue Fever, a disease carried by mosquitoes, that can produce a range of symptoms from extremely mild flu-like symptoms, to the more severe forms with hemorrhagic (bleeding) and neurological symptoms, up to and including death. The virus that causes dengue fever comes in several forms and can lie dormant in the body for years until reactivated by a new infection, or by a weakening of the immune system from other causes. How did 10% of Key West residents get infected in the first place, given the fact that the CDC has boasted for decades that the disease no longer existed in the US, the last case being reported in 1946? It turns out that the CIA has been dropping paper bags filled with dengue infected mosquitoes into poor Black neighborhoods as a part of biological warfare experiments for years. You see, dengue became of intense interest at Fort Dettrick, the Army's biological research center, as a possible front-line biological weapon. The mosquitoes dropped into Avon Park, a poor Black area 170 miles from Miami, were in fact a special breed of mosquitoes put together for the purpose at Fort Dettrick in conjunction with the Rockefeller Foundation. Cuba and Soviet troops in Afghanistan have been the target of US biological weapons attacks from dengue in the past. Now Americans are suffering disease and death a result, and at a time when the chemical toxic brew in the Gulf of Mexico has weakened the immunity of the whole Gulf population. What other disease will begin to emerge as a result of the mass immune deficiency created by the BP oil spill and the criminal CIA "experiments". Who will protect Americans from their own government run amok? How serious a problem this will become is still unclear, but like everything else occurring now in the Gulf, it is just getting started.

Florida Dengue Fever Outbreak Leads Back to CIA and Army Experiments

by: H.P. Albarelli Jr. and Zoe Martell, t r u t h o u t

With little fanfare on July 13, Florida officials released the findings of a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) study conducted recently in the Key West area revealing that about 10 percent, or 1,000 people, of the coastal town's population are infected with the dengue fever virus.
While the July 13 release made little mention of it, the CDC study was provoked by an earlier 2009 report that a woman in New York State, who had returned from a Florida Keys' visit, had contracted dengue fever. Within a few weeks of this initial report, two additional cases were discovered in people who had returned from Key West. Over the next three months of 2009, an additional 26 cases were identified, all tied to visits to the town.
Because of these reported cases, the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District conducted greatly increased aerial spraying to control mosquitoes. Following the spraying, a small amount of other cases were reported, including that of a 41-year-old Key West man who found blood in his urine and had severely aching joints. Following these additional reports, the CDC launched its study of antibodies in Key West residents and found that 5 percent of the town's residents have been exposed to the dengue virus. Said CDC dengue expert, Dr. Christopher J. Gregory, "The best estimate from the survey is that about 5 percent of [residents] was infected in 2009 with dengue." Gregory also stated, "We have known for a while it is a possible risk, but this outbreak shows it is more than possible: It is something that did happen and could happen again."
Despite the low-key nature of the Florida release, the Homeland Security Administration immediately issued a "terror alert" concerning the findings and Monroe County, within which Key West is located, also issued its own health advisory warning "effective immediately."
Said Bob Eadie of the Monroe County Health Department, "Dengue is rare in Florida, but not unknown. It's just one of several mosquito-borne illnesses monitored by the department and why we continually remind the public to take precautions against bites." Eadie added, "Many people may be infected and not develop any symptoms. Our department and the CDC will have to do some detective work after interviewing and drawing blood from residents who appear to be perfectly fine but may have the virus."
Dengue fever is a virus-based disease spread by the bites of mosquitoes. It can be caused by any one of four separate but related viruses carried by infected mosquitoes, most commonly the mosquito Aedes aegypti, found in tropic and subtropic areas. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia, South and Central America, Indonesia and sub-Saharan Africa. Over the past several decades it has been consistently reported that dengue fever has been eradicated in North America. Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a far more severe form of the dengue virus. If untreated, it can be fatal. The chief symptoms of dengue fever are a high fever, severe headache, strong pain behind the eyes, joint, muscle and bone pain, easy bruising, rash and mild bleeding from the nose and gums. There is no cure or vaccine for dengue fever. One can only treat the symptoms in such ways as getting plenty of rest, drink plenty of water, take pain relievers with acetaminophen and promptly consult a skilled physician.
Hidden History of Dengue
It appears highly unlikely that any "detective work" performed by the CDC and Florida health officials will unearth evidence of dengue fever being imported into Florida, but that evidence certainly exists. Prior to the recent Key West findings and still today, the CDC has consistently reported that there have been no outbreaks of dengue fever in Florida since 1934 and none in the continental US since 1946. This report is incorrect.
Unknown to most Americans is that dengue fever has been the intense focus of US Army and CIA biological warfare researchers for over 50 years. Ed Regis notes in his excellent history of Fort Detrick, "The Biology of Doom," that as early as 1942 leading biochemists at the installation placed dengue fever on a long list for serious consideration as a possible weapon. In the early 1950s, Fort Detrick, in partnership with the CIA, launched a multi-million dollar research program under which dengue fever and several addition exotic diseases were studied for use in offensive biological warfare attacks. Assumably, because the virus is generally not lethal, program planners viewed it primarily as an incapacitant. Reads one CIA Project Artichoke document: "Not all viruses have to be lethal ... the objective includes those that act as short-term and long-term incapacitants." Several CIA documents, as well as the findings of a 1975 Congressional committee, reveal that three sites in Florida, Key West, Panama City and Avon Park, as well as two other locations in central Florida, were used for experiments with mosquito-borne dengue fever and other biological substances.
The experiments in Avon Park, about 170 miles from Miami, were covertly conducted in a low-income African-American neighborhood that contained several newly constructed public housing projects. CIA documents related to its top-secret Project MK/NAOMI clearly indicate that the mosquitoes used in Avon Park were the Aedes aegypti type. Specially equipped aircraft, in one of the larger experiments, released 600,000 mosquitoes over the area. In one of the Avon Park experiments, about 150,000 mosquitoes were dropped in paper bags designed to open upon impact with the ground. Each bag held about 1,000 insects. Besides dengue, some of the mosquitoes were also carrying yellow fever.
Avon Park residents, still living in the area, say the experiments resulted in "at least 6 or 7 deaths." One elderly resident told Truthout, "Nobody knew about what had gone on here for years, maybe over 20 years, but in looking back it explained why a bunch of healthy people got sick quick and died at the time of those experiments." Interestingly, at the same time experiments were conducted in Florida, there were at least two cases of dengue fever reported among civilian researchers at Fort Detrick in Maryland.
A 1978 Pentagon publication, entitled "Biological Warfare: Secret Testing & Volunteers," reveals that the Army's Chemical Corps and Special Operations and Projects Divisions at Fort Detrick conducted "tests" similar to the Avon Park experiments in Key West, but the bulk of the documentation concerning this highly classified and covert work is still held by the Pentagon as "secret." One former Fort Detrick researcher says the Army "performed a number of experiments in the area of the Keys," but that "not all concerned dengue virus."
In 1959, Fort Detrick launched its largest mosquito experiment called Operation Bellwether, consisting of over 50 field experiments. Some of these experiments, designed to ascertain the "rate of biting" and "mosquito aggressiveness," were conducted in partnership with scientists with the Rockefeller Institute in New York, where scientists bred their own strain of mosquitoes. Some of the Bellwether experiments were conducted in Florida, as well as in other states, including Georgia, Maryland, Utah and Arizona.
The 1978 Pentagon publication, along with two other Chemical Corps reports, reveal the identities of a number of the companies and institutions that assisted the Army in its offensive biological warfare experiments: Armour Research Foundation (1951-1954); the Battelle Memorial Institute (1952-1965); Ben Venue Labs, Inc. (1953-1954); University of Florida (1953-1956); Florida State University (1951-1953); and the Lovell Chemical Company (1951-1955).
In the spring and summer of 1981, Cuba experienced a severe hemorrhagic dengue fever epidemic. Between May and October 1981, the island nation had 158 dengue-related deaths with about 75,000 reported infection cases. Prior to this outbreak, Cuba had reported only a very small number of cases in 1944 and 1977. At the height of the epidemic, over 10,000 people per day were found infected and 116,150 were hospitalized. At the same time as the 1981 outbreak, covert biological warfare attacks on Cuba's residents and crops were believed to have been conducted against the island by CIA contractors and military airplane flyovers. Particularly harmful to the nation was a severe outbreak of swine flu that Fidel Castro attributed to the CIA. American researcher William H. Schaap, an editor of Covert Action magazine, claims the Cuba dengue outbreak was the result of CIA activities. Former Fort Detrick researchers, all of whom refused to have their names used for this article, say they performed "advance work" on the Cuba outbreak and that it was "man made."
In 1982, the Soviet media reported that the CIA sent operatives into Afghanistan from Pakistan to launch a dengue epidemic. The Soviets claimed the operatives were posing as malaria workers, but, instead, were releasing dengue-infected mosquitoes. The CIA denied the charges. In 1985 and 1986, authorities in Nicaragua accused the CIA of creating a massive outbreak of dengue fever that infected thousands in that country. CIA officials denied any involvement, but Army researchers admitted that intensive work with arthropod vectors for offensive biological warfare objectives had been conducted at Fort Detrick in the early 1980s, having first started in the early 1950s. Fort Detrick researchers reported that huge colonies of mosquitoes infected with not only dengue virus, but also yellow fever, were maintained at the Frederick, Maryland, installation, as well as hordes of flies carrying cholera and anthrax and thousands of ticks filled with Colorado fever and relapsing fever.
A review of declassified Army Chemical Corps documents reveal that the Army may have also been engaged in dengue fever research as early as the late 1940s. Several redacted Camp Detrick and Edgewood Arsenal reports indicate that experiments were conducted on state and federal prisoners who were unwitting exposed to dengue fever, as well as other viruses, some possibly lethal. Freedom of Information requests filed months ago for details on these early experiments remain unanswered.
Dengue Fever and BP Spill Complications
The timing of this outbreak of dengue fever presents two additional problems; the symptoms of dengue fever are very similar to that of exposures to chemicals such as those contained in crude oil and the dispersants currently being used in the contaminated areas of the Gulf of Mexico, potentially making it difficult to diagnose the source of a sufferer's symptoms. Worse yet, there looms the possibility that Corexit and other toxins present in the Gulf area may weaken the immune system, thus, setting the stage for more severe forms of the disease in people who are, or have previously been, exposed to the virus.
It is still unclear to what degree residents of the Gulf area, at large, have been or will be exposed to such chemicals in the long term, but there is mounting evidence that fishermen, cleanup workers, and others who spend significant time in contact with the Gulf waters are beginning to display symptoms consistent with chemically induced neurotoxicity. If dengue fever also spreads within the Gulf community, affecting a significant number of people, it will be increasingly difficult to differentiate the cause of symptoms in those who develop them; even in persons who test positive for dengue exposure, the additional possibility remains that chemical toxicity is present as well.
The presentation of dengue fever varies considerably from case to case. Numerous medical studies have identified asymptomatic infections, or infections that consist of only mild, flu-like symptoms that would likely not result in the sufferer seeking medical attention.
When more troubling symptoms are present, they vary considerably in severity. According to the CDC, milder cases of dengue fever are identified by a high fever accompanied by at least two of the following symptoms: severe headache; severe eye pain (behind eyes); joint pain; muscle and/or bone pain; rash; a mild bleeding manifestation such as bleeding gums, nose bleeds, or easy bruising; and low white cell count. In more severe cases, dengue can cause severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting; red blotches or patches on the skin; more severe bleeding of nose or gums; vomiting of blood; black, tarry excrement (indicative of the presence of blood in the stool); drowsiness; irritability; cold or clammy skin; pallor; and difficulty breathing. The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene has reported cases of dengue fever that resulted in neurological manifestations, as well.
Dengue fever can also cause a much more serious, hemorrhagic form of the disease, the presentation of which the CDC describes as follows:
"[A] fever that lasts from 2 to 7 days, with general signs and symptoms consistent with dengue fever. When the fever declines, warning signs may develop. This marks the beginning of a 24 to 48 hour period when the smallest blood vessels (capillaries) become excessively permeable ("leaky"), allowing the fluid component to escape from the blood vessels into the peritoneum (causing ascites) and pleural cavity (leading to pleural effusions). This may lead to failure of the circulatory system and shock and possibly death without prompt, appropriate treatment. In addition, the patient with DHF has a low platelet count and hemorrhagic manifestations, tendency to bruise easily or have other types of skin hemorrhages, bleeding nose or gums and possibly internal bleeding."
As if this were not troubling enough, let us compare the above symptom picture to the symptoms associated with exposure to the dispersants Corexit 9500 and Corexit 9527. The exact risks of exposure to these chemicals have yet to be determined; in fact, the manufacturers' material safety data sheet (MSDS) for Corexit 9500 states: "No toxicity studies have been conducted on this product." The MSDS further states that one should not come in contact with the product or breathe its vapors and that adequate protective skin protection and breathing apparatuses should be worn when handling or working with the compound. Any hints of safe usage within the MSDS on these chemicals should be viewed from the following perspective: the MSDS data assumes limited exposure (for example, while applying the chemical) and the use of adequate protective gear. These statistics do not apply, therefore, to unprotected people who may be subject to long-term, consistent exposure.
Many toxicologists have raised grave concerns, however, about the risks that these dispersants may pose to residents of the Gulf of Mexico area. Dr. Susan Shaw, a marine toxicologist, talked about her recent experience with shrimpers who had been working in the Gulf waters. In an interview on CNN, she addressed the situation of a shrimper who had thrown his net into water, causing the water to splash onto his unprotected skin. She reported that he developed a "headache that lasted 3 weeks, heart palpitations, muscle spasms, bleeding from the rectum ..." and continued, "and that's what this Corexit does, it ruptures red blood cells, causes internal bleeding and liver and kidney damage. ..." She asserts that the combination of oil from the well, combined with Corexit dispersant, increases the toxicity of both substances. In combination, she believes that they are skin permeable and that they aerosolize to produce a breathing hazard as well. The toxins can enter the body through the respiratory tract, but are unlikely to remain localized in the lungs, instead spreading throughout one's entire body system.
Numerous reports have come in from both residents of the Gulf area and journalists visiting the area that many people who are exposed to the water are beginning to experience health problems. Among the most commonly reported symptoms are burning eyes, skin rashes, lightheadedness, dizziness, difficulty breathing, transient numbness and shooting pains, persistent coughing, sore throats, muscle and bone aches, weakness and severe fatigue. More troubling reports, such as those of the shrimpers mentioned above, have included bleeding from the nose and from the rectum, as well as permanent numbness in extremities and complete loss of the sense of smell. It is generally accepted in the medical literature that, although the initial, acute presentation of toxic exposure is generally the most severe, symptoms may linger indefinitely or even result in permanent damage to the body.
Herein lies the dilemma: If a Gulf resident becomes ill, to what do we attribute his or her symptoms? In addition to the dispersants themselves, Gulf residents are potentially suffering from exposure to benzene and other toxic chemicals that are naturally present in crude oil, as well as several potentially toxic gases being released from the well. In combination with the dispersant, the exact toxicity risk of these chemicals remains unknown.
Add now, to the picture, the risk of having contracted dengue fever and the puzzle becomes more difficult to piece together. The CDC's 2009 survey contained samples from only 240 households and determined that about 5 percent of the residents had antibodies to the dengue virus, indicating either current infection or a prior exposure. This relatively small sample may not be indicative of the Florida population as a whole and may not be a valid indicator of the overall number of exposed people in the surrounding areas.
The medical literature indicates that dengue virus, like many other viruses, may remain in the body in a latent form; during latency, the virus is unlikely to cause symptoms. A second infection with dengue, however, can lead to a much more severe presentation of the disease and a greater likelihood of it progressing to its hemorrhagic (and potentially fatal) form. Likewise, the literature indicates that a severe assault to the immune system presents a risk of virus reactivation and resultant disease.
Dr. Shaw's assessment of the dangers of Corexit dispersant, particularly in combination with the other contaminants resulting from the damaged BP oil well, includes the potential for severe damage to the immune system. Such immune system suppression or damage, it seems, could then reactivate dengue fever in residents who carry the latent virus, perhaps even resulting in a more severe form of the disease's presentation.
Assuming the above quoted assessments of the current situation in Florida are accurate, the presence of the dengue virus in Florida at this time makes for a nightmarish picture. Not only is there a tremendous symptom overlap between dengue virus and toxin exposure, up to and including the potential for a hemorrhagic presentation of both, but there looms on the horizon a new and frightening possibility: The combined presence of this disease and a toxic environment might have the potential to combine, making an already tragic situation incrementally worse.

Antioxidants Protect Your Vascular System

Life on a planet with 21% oxygen in its atmosphere has to solve the problem of oxygen as it breathes in the benefits of oxygen. We must have the internal oxidation of our foods, that produces the energy we need for activity and the heat our bodies needs to remain bio-chemically active, but there are the unwanted side-effects of oxygen as well to contend with. Everyone is familiar with rusty nails, the tendency of apples to turn brown, and the cracking of the vinyl of the car dashboard. All these effects are the effects of oxygen as a chemical reactor that produces breakdown and damage. Similar chemical changes occur in the body all the time and are the major basis of aging. Your arteries and blood vessels, like the vinyl dashboard, harden and crack with time due to exposure to oxygen. What do you do about such things? You use some form of anti-oxidation. Some store bought chemical for the dash board, certain nutrients for the body. This article details how and why they work to produce a healthier vascular system. Pictured here are all the blood vessels in a person's head.

(NaturalNews) Antioxidants are substances that protect cells against the effects of free radicals -- molecules produced when the body breaks down food or is exposed to environmental toxins and radiation. Free radicals are believed to play a role in heart disease, cancer and other disorders. So it makes sense that antioxidants could help protect or even treat many health problems. However, some poorly designed studies have given antioxidants mixed results (http://www.naturalnews.com/023357_p...) and resulted in the mainstream media reporting that antioxidants are virtually worthless. But new research provides hard evidence that taking antioxidant supplements long-term produces dramatic benefits in people with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. That's the conclusion of a randomized, controlled trial of vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 and selenium capsules. The research results, just reported in BioMed Central's journal Nutrition and Metabolism, show these dietary antioxidants produce multiple positive effects on sugar and fat metabolism, blood pressure and arterial flexibility (which allows blood to move freely through the body). The study was conducted by scientist Reuven Zimlichman and his research team at Wolfson Medical Center in Israel. They randomly divided 70 high blood pressure patients into two groups. One group was given antioxidants supplements and the other took placebo capsules for six months. Those taking the antioxidants received vitamin C (1000 mg/day), vitamin E (400 i.u/day), coenzyme Q10 (120 mg/day) and selenium (200 mcg/day). Tests at the beginning of the trial, after three months, and again after six months documented that patients in the antioxidant group had marked improvements in their cardiovascular health. They had more elastic arteries and better blood sugar levels. In addition, their cholesterol profiles were healthier with a significant increase in HDL, the so-called "good", heart-protective cholesterol. In fact, the researchers concluded "antioxidant supplements have the potential to alleviate atherosclerotic damage.." "Antioxidant supplementation significantly increased large and small artery elasticity in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. This beneficial vascular effect was associated with an improvement in glucose and lipid metabolism as well as significant decrease in blood pressure," Dr. Zimlichman said in a statement to the media. "The findings of the present study justify investigating the overall clinical impact of antioxidant treatment in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors." More hopeful news for heart patients: another study by Dr. Zimlichman and colleagues published in the June issue of the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, found that taking the amino acid L-arginine long-term also helped people with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. In this randomized, placebo-controlled trial, 90 patients were assigned to receive either oral L-arginine capsules or placebo capsules. After six months, tests indicated those taking L-arginine had improved vascular health -- including a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure.
